Mushroom fry

Mushrooms are so good. It tastes great. Cooks fast and so good for health. So what is stopping you from making it? Nothing is stopping me, which is why I have this yummy, delicious mushroom fry in my blog. You should try this simple recipe am sure you will keep making it.


Button mushroom – 200 grams (cleaned and sliced)

Mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Onions – 1 (sliced)

Red chillies – 3 – 4 (torn to pieces)

Meat masala – 1 tsp

Crushed Pepper – 1/2 – 1 tsp  (based on your spice tolerance)

Curry leaves – 1 or 2 sprigs

Oil – 2 tsp or as reqd (I used coconut oil you can use any oil you prefer)

Salt – as reqd


Heat a tawa. Pour the reqd amount of oil. Splutter the mustard seeds, add torn red chillies, curry leaves and onions and sauté until the onions are pink.

Add the mushrooms, a little salt and fry it till the mushrooms start wilting. Add the meat masala, a little more oil if needed and keep sauteeing it until cooked (around 10 mins).

Add the crushed pepper for an extra kick.

Serve hot.

Note: We add salt in the beginning with the mushrooms to help speed up the cooking process.

Cook the mushrooms in a non stick tawa, ensure the heat is medium hot all through to ensure proper cooking.
